Deer Hunting:
It is no secret that Iowa is the place to come for monster bucks.  We are fortunate to have a lot of quality bucks and a large deer herd in our area.  The chance to shoot a world-class buck on your stay at Lost Acres Outfitters will be very high.  We do all the scouting from scouting deer activity, setting trail cameras, and looking for shed antlers.  We plant clover for the early season and turnips for the late season, not including the many corn/soybean crop fields on our properties that deer and turkey love.  We try to promote shooting mature bucks that are at least 4 1/2 years old and promote doe management.  See the pictures above and hunting photos to see some of the deer in our area.

Our hunts are designed for upper-end deer management and success.  Our success rates are 50% to 60% with the average harvest around 160+ inches.  We have a 99% opportunity rate on

Whitetail Archery Hunts:
Our archery hunts are 3 or 5 full days of hunting. Our hunts are conducted out of comfortable tree stands.  (Big game XL hang on stands, and Muddy Odyssey ladder stands) or our completely enclosed blinds with a chair that swivels for added comfort and 360-degree capability for shooting.

Hunters who are willing to drive to and from their hunting area are welcome to and encouraged to.  Those who are unable to do so will be taken to and from by Lost Acres Outfitters staff.

Whitetail Gun Season 1 & 2 Late Muxxleloader Hunts:
Our gun and muzzleloader hunts are 3 or 5 full days of hunting.  The late muzzleloader season starts right after the 2nd shotgun season ends and runs until January 10th.   The hunt is Monday through Friday. Our hunts are conducted out of comfortable, heated blinds.  These blinds are completely enclosed and furnished with a big buddy heater and a chair that swivels for added comfort and 360-degree capability for shooting. During the late seasons, the deer are simply coming to and from food sources where we have blinds strategically located over food plots such as soybeans, corn, turnips, wheat, and alfalfa.

Hunters who are willing to drive to and from their hunting area are welcome to and encouraged to.  Those who are unable to do so will be taken to and from by Lost Acres Outfitters staff.

Turkey Hunting:
Our turkey hunts are a 3-day hunt.  What sets Iowa apart on its eastern turkeys is the size potential of a mature tom.  Our toms average 18-23 lbs., 8-11 inch beards, 1 1/4 inch spurs.   After you harvest your bird, we also offer exciting pond fishing and morel mushroom hunting.

Predator Hunting:
If calling in a coyote gets your blood pumping, then Lost Acres Outfitters is the place for you.  We have a lot of coyotes and foxes in our area.  We also are getting a good population of bobcats.  All that you need to do is bring your electronic caller or hand call and we will send you in the right direction.  Predators can be hunted day and night, so you decide when you want to hunt during your stay.

Hunting Regulations:
Before you start hunting in Warren County, it is important to familiarize yourself with the hunting regulations in Iowa. You can obtain the necessary hunting licenses and permits from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
